The Neo-Iconography of Dr. T.F. Chen

Cultural Ambassador for Tolerance & Peace

Effective March 31st this year, the NYC Smoke Free Act of 2002 will prohibit smoking in all public places in New York City. In response to this regulation as a public service, the T. F. Chen Cultural Center releases a series of Limited Edition Prints of Dr. T. F. Chen's No Smoking on canvas. Known as a part of the White House Collection since the Regan era and for its role in raising cancer awareness for the American Cancer Society during the Dinkins' administration, No Smoking portrays the image of Vincent Van Gogh's familiar and timeless self-portrait. With Van Gogh's bandaged ear and pipe etched into the public consciousness, the brilliance and charm of Dr. T. F. Chen's No Smoking arises in its usage of this pictorial icon.

Dr. T. F. Chen's vibrant and powerful No Smoking image is an ideal addition to any environment. By conveying a socially conscious message through captivating fine art, Dr. T. F. Chen's No Smoking is a bold, sophisticated vehicle for any establishment to remind its guests that smoking is banned on the premise.
